Seagulls

Maybe I am a bit obsessed by seagulls as here in another post, but I can't help it, I see them everywhere. They always seem to get around in a group and have a break every now and then.

In the harbour it is always fun to come together.

And there is always a nice hangout.

  1. The inland ones here are much smaller than the ones found around saltwater.

  2. What I wonder about is why there are two unoccupied posts in that first picture. So did these two guys just up and leave? Were they missing in action? Is it a mathematical thing?

  3. Makes me laugh, they somehow looked hilarious just like a funny story or film, but they are beautiful birds nevertheless.

  4. Looks like a convention! Since there are so many, who keeps the places clean where they congregate because they have a tendency to be pretty dirty birds? I am now just beginning a book called Amsterdam: A History of the World's Most Liberal City by Russell Shorto and am enjoying it.

  8. They seem to have a lot to gossip about in their different groups around the city.

  9. My favorites are the Franklin's gull. You've shown some of what gulls do best...just hang out.

  10. Dearest Marianne,
Guess they do stay quite active all day long by cleaning up whatever edible things are left someplace. They make life's cycle efficient by using up some left overs and waste.
    Enjoy a happy weekend ahead.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
