ArtZuid 2015 (2)

"Ardenflirt" is the name of this sculpture made by American artist John Chamberlain (1927-2011). Towards the end of his career he made grateful use of new techniques for bending and moulding large thick galvanised aluminium sheets.

This one is called "Nudepearls", The coloured scylptures consist of twisted and knotted coils and loops with the aluminium having been wrapped around a frame.

They look like giant bent nails to me.

  2. Before I opened your post, I saw a small photo of the above and I thought "she has taken a photo of a french horn somewhere.....a giant one. Upon reading your post and looking at the large photos, yep, they look like giant bent nails to me. Where did the days go when you could actually figure out what the sculptor or artist was creating?

  5. This is another one of those "guess what this represents." Unusual artistry for sure.

  6. Sometimes no matter how much I look at it, I just don't "get" a sculpture. "To each his own," eh.
