Calm after the storm

Yesterday we had a very heavy storm raging over our country, very unusual for these summertimes. Many trees have fallen down and damaged cars or blocked the roads. Fortunately we had no damage, only our garden furniture was flying through the garden. This photo I made last week in Amsterdam,  you can see the parked cars and the trees along the canal.

And  this is what happened yesterday  (photo from internet).

  1. WOW! The size of the downed tree was a shock to me. Not to worry... I will recover, so will the cars but I believe the tree is kaput.

  3. Gelukkig viel het hier ook erg mee, maar het is op veel plekken behoorlijk tekeer gegaan.

  6. You really had a storm, and it look terrible how trees crashes here and there.
Yesterday we had a really hot and sunny day, but your storm came to us at night. Fortunately, already calmed down, and today only it's raining and it's gray (in my place). The storm was emptied there.

  7. That really was a destructive storm; lucky you for not having storm damage! Weather in recent years certainly has been capricious.

  10. Huge trees are very nice but they have potential for great damage.

  11. How unfortunate for the car owners to have to get their cars back in order. Glad you have calm now.

  15. Ruwe stormen mogen woeden ...

The trees that fell look a little rotted inside. Jammer van die autos.

    Fijne week Marianne.

  16. WOW - that is such a huge tree to come crashing down on the cars. We have had such storms here over the years as well. Not pleasant at all when trees fall like this. Good to know you only had furniture blowing about in your yard and no damage to you from the strength of the storm.

  17. Wow, that is bad. I've seen weather that intense to bring down trees.
