In the area in Almere where I saw those red buildings in my post a few days ago, we walked around and there was more colour.

The area has been named "Rainbow neighbourhood", so that explains.

Architecture

"Rode Donders" is the name of  three residential buildings that mark the transition from the low-rise neighbourhoods of Almere to the polder. Their shape refers to the industrial buildings and is reminiscent of grain silos.

I saw them always from a distance when driving by on the highway, but we decided to have a closer look in another part of Almere than our close surroundings.

Greenhouses

Almere has an extensive greenhouse cultivation. In 2016 it was opened for visitors, so we went for a look inside.

They grow vegetables.

And flowers.

Lots of flowers.

And someone had made this piece of art with roses.

Good Fences

A lot of fence works in the greenhouse with orchids here in Almere. Linking to "Good Fences".

The Greenhouses

Last weekend I visited the open day of the Greenhouses in Almere Buiten. I had never been there and was surprised by the amount and the size of the houses.

Inside it was huge.

These were vegetables, don't ask me which, there was no sign.

In this greenhouse people had their own vegetable garden.

Here a greenhouse full of orchids.

In all kind of colours.

Potted plants.
