Rolling Kitchens

The Rolling Kitchens Foodmarket in Amsterdam had arrived again. Due to the Covid troubles last year everything had come to a standstill.

It had just opened and some were still busy building up their foodcars, so it was not yet so crowded with people.

We had a nice sandwich with melted Camembert cheese.

Sunshine

 The good days in the Westerparc in Amsterdam in June 2019.

When I look outside I see  now the same sunshine shining as three years ago.

Diner

I return to our haute cuisine evening of  last Thursday, this is the view from the entrance to the restaurant.

The food was served in  plates with an explanation of the waiter.

I really can't remember the names of the food , we got six of these plates with three or four different items on it.

In this magical location in Amsterdam we had diner last night to celebrate a pre-75 anniversary of hubby.

The location was a former gas factory turned into an exhibition hall and this time as pop-up starred restaurant.

You can see the distances between the tables were allright by Corona standards.

Rolling Kitchens

A few pictures of the anual food festival in the Westerparc in Amsterdam.

All kind of exotic food is fresh made and you can eat it right away.

Some make a real piece of art of their rolling kitchen, here a Delft Blue one.

And there is music.

But it was so hot and no shadows anywhere, so we left without eating any hot food before we were caught in the heat.

Unseen 2015

The entrance to the "Unseen Photo Fair Amsterdam" was this year rather unusual.

Inside a former gas holder many Galleries exposed their photos.

Balancing

It almost looks like he is floating but he is balancing with his bottom on a rope.

There was another one doing a balancing act.

It is something new you see in the parks here. you only need two trees and a rope.

Bicycles

As there were many visitors to the "Rolling Kitchens" festival in the park (see yesterday's post), an alternative parking place for bicycles was created in the park on the lawns. You could reach it with a temporary pontoon bridge over the canal.

The sculpture on the lawn seems to worry about all the sudden bicycles around him.

The "Rolling Kitchens" is one of the  nicest annually events in Amsterdam. In the Westerpark you can find in the open air all kind of foods prepared from kitchens on wheels from trucks and caravans to bicyles.

The weather was a bit chilly but with the sun shining nobody bothers to eat outside.

Children were having fun.

And adults too.

There was music.

Don't know what he was doing up there, chilling perhaps?

He was also high up in heaven to bake "Heavenly Poffertjes" a dutch treat, a kind of little pancakes.
