When I visited the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam last week to see the exhibition of Rembrandt, I walked through the garden around the museum. There was a painting class for amateurs to practise their skills.

Serious business.

Marten and Oopjen

Two enlarged Playmobil dolls in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. These are not for sale but the small onces you can buy in the souvenirshop. They represent a painting by Rembrandt of  the couple "Marten and Oopjen".

The entrance hall of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, a group of students with their teachers has just arrived. The museum tourguide is the lady in black at the left where the students are looking at. There are special education programs for children and students .

With over two million visitors the museum had a very succesful year. This was the third year in a row that the museum has attracted so many visitors,  far more than projections anticipated.

After a renovation that took  place from 2004 to 2012! the museum can at last welcome its visitors in a proper way.
