Europride is a pan-European international event dedicated to the LGBT pride, hosted by a different European city each year. The host city is usually one with an established gay pride or a significant LGBT community. This year Amsterdam is the host city to the Europride.
The international rainbow flags are everywhere, representing the LGBT pride. For up a fortnight, numorous sporting and artistic events are staged throughout the host city.
The Europride is traditionally ending with a big Mardi Grass-style pride parade, in Amsterdam it is usually a Canal-Parade which takes place this weekend.
Here a picture of last year's canal parade.
