 My Hydrangia is slowly showing its flowers in the front yard. My neighbour  hung a bowl of roses above it.

Summerday?

This is how our sunny summer days always end. The proverb is "After rain comes sunshine" but here it is the opposite....

Garden

It is high summer and we have an extra guest at the dinner table in the garden.

The new Normal

Last week my daughter and son in law came along  for a visit. We had a nice sunny afternoon with appropriate distance in the garden.

Sun

We are lucky to have suddenly warm summer temperatures now and have our own  garden to enjoy the sun without 1,5 meters distance. Carried all the garden stuff from the attic down to the garden yesterday.

And made a bike ride in the surroundings.

Rain again

And that was our winter so far. A few days of cold and snow and that was all. It even did not lasted a week. Back to "normal", rain and grey....

Creative gardening

When you live in a city as Amsterdam, not many have a garden. I saw some examples of people with "green fingers" who try to garden in the public space under a tree.

Even with exotic plants!

And the birds are not forgotten.

I read these gardens have an official name "nearby tree garden" and it is a more green project spread over several districts in Amsterdam.

Thoughts

Sofietje overlooking her empire, the garden. She always likes to have a roof  above her head, so this stool is perfect. Sleeping she prefers to do on a chair which is slid under a table, I always have to check the chairs under the table to look where she is.

She probably looks at the hydrangea.

The terrible terrorist attack in Nice last night breaks my heart. and my thoughts are by the French people. How can one have such a sick mind to kill so many people. Four years ago we walked there along the sea during a holiday and it is incredible to see the horrible images now with the dead bodies.

A ray of hope for all the rain we have here,  my front yard has never looked like this before.
