Decorations

In the run-up to the Pride Canal Parade in Amsterdam, the city was already decorated with  banners along the canals.

Every window here had a LBJ coloured hart.

Rainbow coloured garlands.

The boats at the Canal Parade were very pretty but the people watching them as well. 

Packed together between the visitors along the canal I looked carefully around.

Gay Pride Canal Parade

Yesterday we had the anual Pride Canal Parade in Amsterdam.

The canals are packed with boats, music and public to celebrate that you are the way you are.

I like the extravaganza.

It is a happening every year.

The People

With so many people around at the Gay Pride Parade ( see yesterday's post) is it not difficult to spot some specials. These are the eldery inhabitants who installed themselves long before the start of the parade along the canals with chairs and drinks.

The young ones found alternative places.

Gay Pride Parade

The Gay Pride Canalparade in Amsterdam is every year a great event in the city. The whole town is packed with people along the canals to see the boats with costumes and music. 

It feels like carnaval.

It was so crowded I only could make photos with the camera above my head not seeing anything  hoping for the best. I was surprised with the result.

Confetti bombs.

It was hot but the perfect day to celebrate to live in a country where everybody can be his-/herself without ristrictions.

Not only the Gay Parade in Amsterdam was fun to watch, the public had its highlights as well.

How to pass a bridge

Amsterdam has many bridges and to pass them with an open boat you sometimes have to duck for not hurting your head. I wondered how they would deal with the high decorations at the Gay Pride Parade last Saturday.

I saw they were prepared and some started to pull the peacock down.

It was very flexible to get it down.

Gay Pride Parade

Amsterdam is an open minded city where everybody can live their life in freedom. To express that the gay scene has an annual festive canal parade with decorated boats and music.

It is an event that attracts many spectators and the whole centre was packed with people.

It is fun to see all the dress-ups.

Every bridge had people to watch the parade..
