Historisch Museum Ede

This is a very small museum in a very small village named Ede. It has a nice collection from the pre-history until now and a special exhibition about a first airflight of Jan Hilgers in 1910. He was the first Dutchman to fly in the Dutch air.
It was a funny story, he was not able to make a turning with his plane in the air, he could only fly straight on. So he put the plane on the ground, turned it by hand, got up again and landed in Ede were he had started.Posted by Picasa

  1. Hello - noticed your name on my blog list so I thought I'd look at yours! You have some fascinating photos and stories. So many bikes, even outside the museum. Funny story about the plane. I know a lady who will go a long way in her car to avoid making a turn that needs her to cross the line of traffic coming the other way!
