A pedestrian bridge called "Tobacco bridge" in Amsterdam centre. See for more Sunday Bridges here
There is a little story about the bridge to tell. The bridge was built by a tobacco broker Mr. Olie. Through this bridge he could walk from his office daily to the building Frascati, where the tobacco auctions were, with a few minutes reduction. Besides he paid for the bridge himself and also for use of the municipal land until 1907.
The bridges over the canals are so quaint and hundreds of them.

It's a lovely little bridge! I am sure Mr. Olie enjoyed his walks.

Such a cute bridge! I love the style of the (old)houses in your country. I don't like modern architecture...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCharming little footbridge, and nice story and capture.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a pretty little bridge! Interesting story behind it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmsterdam has so many quaint little bridges across the canals. I really like this one, and the story is so interesting. Seeing all of the bicycles just adds to the ambiance of the photo. Nice capture and composition.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI would love to smoke a cigarette on the top of that bridge. Lovle photo.
