Tulips, tulips and tulips.

I did not know so much about tulips, a tulip was just a tulip for me. But a learned a lot here, there are so many colours, shapes, it opened my eyes. Here they have put together all the different kinds and I had a good look at them.
This is my first macro photo, did not know it was on my camera (shame on me).

Look at the funny milled edges, had never seen these.

With two different colours.

And this is my sweetie in the pink. There is a small path between the tulips, so he did not trampled  them. If you want to know more about the tulip history look here.

And at the end we had a nice drink in the garden and enjoyed the incredible hot weather 26 degrees Celcius. It has not been so hot at this time of the year since 1949! It is also very dry for a time and we had a big peat-moor fire in the north-east part of the country.

  1. These tulips are stunning and the world appreciates their cultivation and growing... A bouquet of tulips is just sublime and made so dear to as we do not grow them well in my part of the US.

Now that you have found your macro lens, you will have a whole new world to photograph!

  2. yes, those gerafelde tulpen look really funny! almost a little fake!
dont you like the macro-lens! its really funny to play with.. but sometimes difficult, i find...
ah, and oompah-loompahs are from charlie and the chocolate-factory, roald dahl!! i very well remember the song as well ... :)

  3. CaT,
Ah, yes the oompah-loompahs were Roald Dahl!I remember now, thanks. Yes those gerafelde tulips, were funny. I never liked tulips so much, a rather dull flower, so stiff and not delicate. But with all the differences I saw, I rather like them now.

You're right, I am now going for the details!

  4. What would the world do without your tulips? And what a fabulous way to see them....standing in the middle of a field filled with gorgeous blooms and colors. The shots in this post as well as the one before are just heavenly. You are so lucky to live in such a divine place.

  5. Aren't you glad you discovered the macro setting? The flowers are beautiful and the snack looks inviting!

  6. These are all lovely and the macro shot glows with light....wonderful!

  7. I just love all those beautiful colors. What a wonderful day you had!
