World Press Photo

A Japanese woman after the tsunami at the World Press Photo exhibition in Amsterdam.

It was very crowdy, we had to wait in a long queue outside to enter. Luckily the photos were not so cruel as in previous years, when I didn't wanted to see it anymore. But this year I decided to give it a try again.

  1. Are the photos in this exhibit all about human and natural tragedies; is that why you label past exhibits as "cruel?"

  2. I guess having a close look at some of the things going on around the world can be disturbing?
The Japanese lady shows great character in her face.

  6. Kate,
Yes, some years had so many horrible photos about wars and victims. I know it is the reality but I don't have to see it so close in front.
