A view of Antwerp in Belgium seen from the river Scheldt. We visited the city in December for the Christmasmarket but also made a tour around to watch the beautiful buildings.
The Church of our Lady is a Roman Catholic cathedral which was built from 1352 until 1521 but has never completed.
The building in front was decorated with several sculptures.
Beside the entrance of the cathedral is a sculpture of a group of stone cutters.
There seems to be no shortage of statues.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes there is the proof that it's never been finished Marianne! It's a magnificent though and so old, to me living in a young country that is just incredible!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI think my favourite is the group of stone masons. Antwerp looks like an interesting town to visit.
