The Maritime Museum in Amsterdam with two replicas of old ships. At the left a VOC-ship the "East Indiaman the Amsterdam" and in front of the museum a visitor The State ship "The States of Utrecht".
The clouds are here every day at the moment with sometimes lots of rain.
See for more skywatches here.
I'm not a sailor but I think this would be an interesting place to visit.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGreat photo!Have a nice day!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis was the scene that we saw when we pulled into Amsterdam on our river cruise. loved it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love the word "Maritime"...The Maritimes is where I live. The Maritimes consist of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island - so, when you talk about the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam I feel a real connection even though I have never been there - all in the name, Eh. I enjoyed your ship yesterday and am looking at this second amazing ship and both look so nice settled against the "Maritime Museum". Have a lovely day Marianne :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI first thought this was another one of Amsterdam's crooked buildings but I think it looks like that from the angle the picture was taken. I like your lopsided buildings.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSaw this when we were in Amsterdam in October!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe museum looks like it's built right over the water? I suppose that would be appropriate for a maritime museum.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI've been in Amsterdam in May. So I know how it is. The clouds are beautiful, but warm weather would be welcome. Right?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAs nervous as I am about deep water, I know a visit to your Maritime Museum would be super interesting Marianne, the two tall masts parked there add to the appeal..
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDo the ships ever go out to sea with passengers?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMy nephew was part of a crew that sailed a tall ship (like the one pictured on the left) from the USA to Portugal when he was at the Coast Guard Academy. I love your capture!
