The guests of the Hilton Hotel have a hard time this summer, besides an underpant they also have to look at a skull in front of the hotel. This "Wellness Skull" of dutch artist Joep van Lieshout, contains a wellness inside.
With the stairs at the back you enter the wellness cabin with sauna, at the left is a shower hanging outside.
This is me entering the sauna photographed by SC of course.

And on the other side is also a hand shower.
It is not in use of course, but the artist wants to express the utopical expectations sport schools raise about health and beauty. It is a symbol of the irrevocably death.
Now I have seen everything... Well, almost everything.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell that has me totally confused.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAre they trying to tell the Hilton something?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI think that this is a very interesting piece of art form. I don't clearly understand the connections among the skull, health, beauty, fitness and irrevocable death. I'll have to ponder that a bit.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt looks as if the jaw could open. Not sure if I would want this in my backyard.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHand shower in the skull is cool!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell, the Hilton is having some experiences this year and probably not happy with the artists tastes. I do not know that I would enjoy this skull in my front yard either. The bloomers were a laugh but I think I could think of a nicer way to promote health and beauty. Kinda Kool though :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis is cool! the more you think about it, the more questions you have. It starts out as a skull and then there's so much more.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenmy goodness.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI think I'd rather have the underpants. ;-)
Haha! This one certainly has us puzzled Marianne! I always wonder what gives artists their ideas..
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAh that's what I thought That's why I don't go to sport schools lol. Nice view for the Hiltoners
