Harbour Festival

In september we have in Almere a three days Harbour Festival with all kind of activities. One of them is a "Botter-race". A Botter is an old dutch wooden fishing vessel with sails used at the "Zuidersea" from the second half of the 18th century. A few places have their own botters, this one is from Urk, but Almere has its own ship too.

Yesterday several boats had come together in the harbour and were sailing out to the Gooilake to have a race.

And here they are sailing on the lake. Unfortunately there were hardly any winds, so not much movements to see.

In the evening all the restaurants had set up a tasting along the harbour, we had a Japanese taste, a Greek one and one of a good restaurant, yummie.
