Lille, Fleamarket

Yesterday we visited the biggest fleamarket in Europe in the city Lille in France. You can see we were not the only ones who had the idea. From our hometown Almere, a bus drove us in 3 hours all the way to France. The bad part is you have to get up very early because the bus departs at 6.45 a.m. but the best part is you don't have to park your car. The bus picked us up at 7.30 p.m. and at 11.30 we arrived exhousted in Almere again.

But there is a lot to see, from real antic furnitures to funny things.

A bit huge to paint your nails.

Don't know what this was used for, an ashtray?

A bizar way to use a stuffed wolf.

This man was playing a music machine.
I have lots of  more photos I'll show you next time, in the meantime you can have a look at hubby's blog

  2. Looks fascinating!
As you noticed we have had lovely summer weather too,but with almost no rain since March the ground is very dry.

  3. Dearest Marianne,
You definitely were NOT alone there! But taking a bus is a great option, and you still had a full day for spending in Lille.
It looks like a cigarette presentation, certainly not an ashtray. But why all those females with long hair? Kind of strange...
That stuffed wolf is a sad sight! Are there any wolfs in the region and is it allowed to kill them?
Roaming a flea market always provides us many questions and very few answers.
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  7. Prachtig dat je in 3 uur in een hele andere cultuur terecht kun komen. (ik moet 4 uur in de auto om op visite te gaan bij mijn ouders of dochters). Interessante fotos, Marianne.

    Fijne maandag.

  10. I would love to be there! The only problem with the bus is having to carry all your purchases all day!

  12. The stuffed wolf is madness - I want it. I would have to put it somewhere where I wouldn't meet it if I got up in the middle of the night.
