Dam square

When walking in Amsterdam at the moment you can hear from far a lot of noise, the fair at Dam square has arrived. At one of the most crowded squares of Amsterdam all these huge machines are placed in front of the historic palace and New Church. Maybe I am getting old but I don't like it, the loud music and sweeping and turning machines at the wrong place.

We moved on the the nearby department store for a tea with cake on the topfloor where we had a nice view down.

And up.

And the New Church. The window was not so clean, so there are some blurs to see.

And trying to make a photo of the Royal Palace there was that fair again!

Thanks for all the nice comments at my post of yesterday, it was fun to go back in time and I will try to make such a post again.

  2. Kermis is ook niet zo mijn ding. Toch heb je er leuke foto's van gemaakt en vanaf een prima plek.

  3. What beautiful views of the buildings - I like the colours of the Fair, and the ferris wheel and probably would stroll through. Love the buildings though - great shots :)

  4. Hopefully it won't be there too long or is it there as part of Christmas festivities?

  5. Yep, if you were back in the time of yesterday's post you'd be delighted with the fair. I'll say no more on that subject. The rooftop photo really gives me an idea as to how packed together Amsterdam is. No doubt I'd be lost in a short time.

  6. You've done the smart thing and banned cars from streets. You walk and cycle. Your country is clean. The street scene is great with the entertainment.

  7. What a great photos looking down on the beautiful buildings. It probably is the age as the kermis doesn't do it for my anymore either

  8. I think you were eating where we had lunch with you! I agree . Crowds and noise are not as appealing as they use to be.
