Recently we have a flock of sheep in our little village Almere Haven. The city counsel decided to have a flock to keep the grass short, instead of machines and mankind. It is much more green and funny for us to watch them so close by in a residential area. The sheep move from the one grassland to the other with a mobile fence to keep them together.
There are always some "black sheep" in a flock. In dutch this kind of sheep is called "Schoonebekers". They even have their own Facebook page "Schaapskudde Almere".
hahaha! their own facebookpage?!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenso will they stay permanently?
I don't know, maybe not, but it is fun to hear their bells some have.
VerwijderenI have learned some new words today - Schoonebekers - I shall try and remember this to say to my friends. The moving fence reminds me of the moving chicken coops some farmers have here. Nice green, green grass and lovely looking sheep.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat made me smile too Marianne :) super rural image here.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou have a very forward thinking concil.. What a great idea.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenUsing sheep to cut the grass is a great idea. It's used here in the odd place. More of it should be done.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWel leuk die schaapjes met hun zwarte kop.

Filip
dat lijkt nz wel. Wat me opvalt is dat het allemaal verschillende soorten zijn
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI had to look twice at this, we bob our sheeps tails when they are born and it took me by surprise. lol
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNot only does the grass get mowed, but fertilized at the same time! Love sheep, wish more places did this.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe have this almost every week around our apartment building. The best lawnmowers around for centuries.
