The sculpture garden of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam had last summer an exhibition with huge sculptures of Bristish artist Henry Moore (1898-1986). He was best known for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures. This one is called "Oval with Points" from 1968/1970.
What a coincidence. A couple of days ago I went to the Henry Moore Foundation which is on the outskirts of London in Hertfordshire, to see many of his sculptures and also an exhibition of some of Rodin's work. I love Henry Moore's work so I was delighted to see your post this morning. They were made to be touched and to be outdoors so really pleased to see it outside the Rijksmuseum.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes a nice coincidence, I like his work very much and there were much more sculpture of him here to watch all in the open air.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenThese do make you think about what the artist was thinking. I wonder what this would look like if it was in a larger space?

BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe name of this sculpture made me smile Marianne, it's so literal oui :)
