The Great Beauty

Yesterday I saw a great movie "La Grande Bellezza" by Italian movie-maker Paolo Sorrentino.
The story is about a Roman writer "Jeb Gambardella" who after his brilliant debut novel, never has been able to deliver a second novel and at the age of 65 mecilessly looks back at the bunga-bunga party that we call life. The movie is an ode to the famous Italian movie-maker Fellini who also showed the "Dolce Vita" life in Rome in his movies. The movie won an Oscar for best foreign movie.

Here you can have a short look at the trailer.

  5. Dearest Marianne,
Having lived and worked in Italy, we always loved the great way of showing emotions on TV, in music and in movies. Italians are masters in it and very natural, not as stiff as the Calvinistic Dutch... Glad you enjoyed it!
    Hugs,
