ARTZUID Junior

The Vondelpark in Amsterdam is 150 years old and to celebrate this they had a nice plan to have an art exhibition in the parc. They invited 160 talented children of 32 schools to design together with artists a miniature sculpture with the theme "My Vondelpark". From the 160 designs 20 were elected by public vote. These sculptures were done in the large up to 3,5 meters and are part of the exhibtion now.

The kids have a good eye what people like most doing in the park.

Must be great for a child to see your own design exposed in reality.

I enjoyed the exhibition very much together with the wonderful weather.

  3. How wonderful to involve the children and then see their sculptures in the park. I love the one with the child jumping off the log, with feathers to fly, the chap playing guitar, while another naps, the rabbit and the swan, the tree is cute with birdhouse - quite an incentive for the children and how proud one would be to see their design on display. Wonderful.

  9. Very talented children they are.
We need to nurture these kids, along with those who are Mathematically and Scientifically inclined. For a bright future, for all of us in the world, it is my belief that we need all skills.

My particular favorite, given my love for dogs, is the doggy with the droopy ears. Very cool!

    Peace :)

  10. Neat that it was kids expressing their ideas about the park. Too many times we ignore the talents children have.
