I'd like to find and photograph the foundries where these kinds of fences are forged.
I love interesting gateways, and this is a very fine example.

Isn't it funny how we look at things...and say "Oh that is blog worthy!"
I've done that. "Oh, this will be good blog material." But then again, more times I gone and...."Oh I should have taken a picture of that for the blog! Darn!"
The fence is beautiful, and it does not really requiring any text. I also always think of a photo that it is good for blog, and then you have too many and does not have time to publish all images, shame. And I agree John, there are too many image which should have been taken. ;)

The closed gate is a terrible statement for an institution of learning. It's not inviting at all.
