At the "Brocante" (Antique Market) in Almere Haven last weekend.
An old Dutch wooden "High Chair"for little children painted in the traditional "Hindelooper art"style. This is a special style of painted furniture, walls and objects and includes colorful decorative flower patterns, bible prints and sea scenes. This painting was created around 1650 and at that time very popular in the so called "captains-houses" in the little village Hindeloopen.
Here another example of the painting art.
I am aware of showing "girlish" items, so here something for the male followers.
Thanks for the explanation of Hindelooper art. The colors, in these cases, I find especially attractive.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJust beautiful - I love the gentlemen's travelling cases - that is all one needed, small case like those back in olde travelling days. Lots of colour and I like the shoes of the person by the case :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSaucy Kodz said exactly how I feel about your post. It is a splendid array of photos to show the variety of available objects.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI can't believe how different your antique market looks from those here in the states. I'd love to just walk through these places to admire all the goodies. Love that painted furniture.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenand I was just going to say 'I don't see anything too interesting' then you showed the luggage :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI loooove antique markets Marianne, I feel your markets would have so much more interesting 'old' stuff than ours.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA little bit of something for everyone, I see.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMeestal een hoop rommel bij elkaar.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGroetjes,
Filip
Alles lijkt zo fotogeniek op zo'n markt. Erg leuk!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAntique shops are very popular but not with this guy. I do like museums.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI would love to visit this place! So many treasures, I would probably spend too much money.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHaha, you made up perfectly after starting out with the corset and ending with those men's briefcases! For a moment I thought to be a little girl again and finding my Mom's corset on the chair in the bedroom... Funny how times have changed; for the better in that regard!
Love the Hindelooper painting!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dat is nou een plaats waar ik uren kan rondbrengen. Ik ben gek op markten speciall kunst en antiek markten. Het kinderzitje is erg leuk en zoveel andere mooie dingen.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh I. Could have filled my suitcase there for sure! Such lovely treasures. You are very thoughtful to think of the men...
