Monday Mural

A garage door in the former prison in Leeuwarden has been painted with a nice mural of a smithy.
The prison complex has turned into artist workshops now.

  7. What a great idea for usefulness. Reminds me of the poem... "Under the spreading chestnut tree, the village smithy stands. The muscles of his brawny arms are strong as iron bands"

Quite a transformation from its original purpose into a blacksmith forge... But lovely done!

  11. Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have a need for prisons anymore. Nice mural.

I had my genealogy books out and read that I had a Dutch ancestor from Leeuwarden. Let's hope this isn't where he lived.
