The "Camp-Fire"made by Wilhelmusvlug from the Netherlands is ment as a meetingpoint for people but without the Twitter volatility and the one direction communication of today. It must be a safe haven for everyone just to sit by and watch the fire or have a good conversation.
"Constell.ation" by LIKEarchitects from Portugal. The arches are made of plastic tubes lighted wit special ledlights which strenghten the red colour. You can use your imagination and see an Amsterdam arch bridge, or even the red light district.
"Re(bi)cycle Dome" by Vasili Popov from Russia. He thinks the bicycle wheel is the ultimate gadget of the Netherlands and tried to use it as a building block. With the help of a computer program he made the dome with the wheels spread over it.The public has to use an old water pump to have the lights shining and changing colours.
This is my last post about the light festival so far, maybe I will have another look because there is still more to see. In the meantime you can have a look sccollections hubby's blog for more pictures.
Pretty cool! Happy Christmas.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenHappy Holidays from Salamanca.
I love that last one. I would love to see it in person.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe flames are looking very pretty but the most artful is Vasili Popov's Re(bi)cycle Dome using 300 bicycle rims from discarded bicycles. The light source of the artwork is fed with energy by way of an old-fashioned water pump. Genial idea and so many Eco-Friendly elements he's used. Recycling indeed and also letting the visitors generate the simple energy by pumping. The water pump is also uniquely related to The Netherlands.
Great job!
Hugs,
Mariette
I've really enjoyed the last series of posts on lights. I find it amazing what they can do with lights and creativity.
