A sign of a bicycle shop in Harderwijk.
And a view from the other side. The white sign at the right says "Cycling allowed when the shops are closed". A strange combination, you want to buy a bike and can't try it outside when the shop is open.

Nice one. It is interesting and original.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery confusing. Seems everyone there in on a bike? Other than then bike shop...that must not be a shopping street?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWat zou de fietsenhandelaar daar van vinden?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove the bike sign Marianne, confusing words though :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a contradiction indeed! Nice sign for the bicycle shop.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat wouldn't be good for business.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenQuite the opposite with shops here where you're encouraged to take a bike for a spin before buying.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe silhouette really makes the sign stand out.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat must put a damper on their business!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI would think they would relocate to a more bike friendly address. I do like their sign, though.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMarianne, such a nice sign to have above the shop, but you are right about trying out the cycle.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenQuite a neat sign. If I tried speaking those Dutch words out loud, I'd end up sounding German.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFine looking bike sign over the shop. For a while the city marked the sidewalk in front of the bike shop downtown with a, "No Bikes" sign. That seemed rude to one of the few retail businesses still in the downtown area. That sign has since been removed.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThere's no langage problem with this sign!! Tom The Backroads Traveller
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is quite a contradiction indeed! Funny bicycle sign though.
Hugs,
Mariette
I like the first sign a lot.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMY SIGNS
The town of Sandpoint Idaho is having quite a few bike riders.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCoffee is on
Nice sign for a bicycle shop, I wonder waht the "P" is ?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have never take a bicycle out for a spin prior to buying it. I have sat on it and gone up and down the isles, but most places here wouldn't let you take it out of the store to try it out - it would be then considered used if you didn't want it. I do like the bike sign and I do like the idea of trying the bicycle out prior to buying - gee, we take cars for a spin to try them out, eh; so why not bikes too. Very interesting.
