Cloudy sky

A view at the Central Train Station in Amsterdam. These clouds we call "schapenwolken" in dutch,  "sheep clouds" in english? Linking to "Skywatch Friday"

  1. I'm not sure we have a name for them other than their scientific name, i.e. cumulus clouds. We do often describe as being like cotton or cotton balls, perhaps because in parts of the U. S. we grow as much cotton as the Dutch do sheep. :-)

  2. "schapenwolken" works for me :) - what a very beautiful photo filled with not only beautiful blue skies and clouds, but also photo is bustling with buildings all very lovely and different, the canal, a few boats and love the bicycles in the foreground. A very striking photo.

  4. I like how you included the bike handles into the scene. It adds depth.

  5. The bicycle handles remind me of the many bicycles we saw in Europe at the train stations and other places around the cities. Sheep Clouds is very appropriate, with their very white color. Although in reality sheep aren't all that white! Happy weekend, Marianne.

  8. The busy city contrasted with the peaceful blue sky and fluffy "sheep clouds" -- a nice contrast.
