And of the season

On a walk last Sunday we passed our local sheep flock again. They are in our neighbourhood for the last time this season. The weather is getting to cold for them and the grass to wet so they will go to a winter stable this week.

They were grazing on a field that apparently is used as a playground for children, so the sheep could have a running contest with a real starting  point.

And there is always one black sheep in the flock. Bye, bye till next year.

  4. We zien deze 'mobiele' kuddes hier ook regelmatig. Prima oplossing om het gras kort te houden.

  5. I guess the job is done and they can go back to the farm. It is a good way to mow the grass.

  6. Dearest Marianne,
It can cause hoof rot if they would remain in such a too wet meadow. Good that they will go to a dry and warm stable. Guess they will be fed on hay from than on.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  9. I didn't know the sheep couldn't be out in wet weather. Now they can be kept nice and warm indoors.

  10. Here sheep stay outside year around, even in snow and very cold temperatures. It's interesting that these sheep go indoors for the winter.
