The Eastpark

Amsterdam has several parks named after the area where it is situated, so this is called the "Eastpark". It has been recently renovated with removing some trees and creating these circles I hadn't seen before.

The old bandstand is fortunately still there.

And the old wooden bridge from 1929.

With the funny Chinese masks. It is said the designer of the bridge "Kramer", was probably inspired by the nearby Tropical Museum.

A sculpture named the "Goat rider" made by Gerrit Bolhuis.
I was born not far from this park and I have played here very often as a child until I was six years old and moved to the south area of Amsterdam.

  1. Nice to see the trees have large rings around them where water can get down to their roots. I like the sculpture of the boy riding the goat.

  2. I'd prefer the rings not being there and just grass all around the trees. More park-like in my mind. I wouldn't want to try to ride a goat. Those horns look dangerous.

  3. Beautiful old bandstand and bridge Marianne, love the red Chinese masks, such a quirky little touch!

  4. The circles are very effective and make for an interesting place.

  5. The bandstand would be my favourite aspect of it.

  6. Ziet er netjes uit. Je hebt een rustig moment gekozen!

  7. The circles around the trees are attractive and I love the boy riding the goat sculpture.

  8. Um belo jardim.
Um abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
