Wood

We have a lovely park, the Kromslootpark, close by that we enjoy for more then 36 years now. As everything was new in our polder, so was the park and we saw it grow greener and more beautiful. One part of it at the other side is completely destroyed in order to widen a highway. Many trees were cut down and now I see they can't stop felling and started at the other side as well.

The tree trunks are accumulated along the roads.

Also in our neighbourhood between the houses we hear daily the tree cutters. Our village is supposed to be a green one but not for long anymore I am afraid. I have heard a city council can earn a lot of money with selling wood....

  3. Oh no! This is terrible Marianne.. you and s.c. and friends need to get out there and tie yourselves to the trees to save them :) No seriously, it must be awful seeing trees that you've watched from planting and growing to now start disappearing!

  8. It seems that we have to fight for every piece of green as someone always wants to use it for some building.
