Our local sheep flock has returned last week from their winter barn to the grassfields in Almere Haven. They were very busy with their job to mow the lawn, these two women are the shepherds with their dogs.
In february many sheep had got lambs and they had grown up enough to walk along with the flock.
The shepherd had an affectionately talk with one of them.
The lambs looked quite different than the mothers. The mothers were bleating all the time and one of the shepherds told me they were doing that to let the lambs know where they are. They don't follow the lambs but the lambs have to find the mothers themselves by hearing their sound. That is easy motherhood! Linking to "Our World Tuesday"
Very interesting. They appear to be more like pets than the normal farm animal.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove it! A little one-on-one counseling. :-)

BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful photos of animals that we seem to fall in love with, especially the lambs.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI bet you could hear them long before seeing them.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove the sheep and dogs ~ Wonderful photos of your world ~
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHappy week to you ~ ^_^
The sheep must be quite used to their shepherds, and to the dogs.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt looks like this area is in need of some grass being trimmed. There should be some very fat sheep in a while.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWat grappig dat de lammetjes zo gevlekt bruin zijn.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSheep looks just wonderful. In fact, I just do not see them here.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is easy motherhood as long as their offspring is not deaf!
But what a lovely sight this is.
Hugs,
Mariette
Seeing the sheep back on the grasslands with their lambs really lets you know that spring is well and truly here.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is wonderful to see!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI wonder how each lamb recognises the bleat of its mother and doesn't mix her up with another mother bleating.
