I am used to see bikes in Amsterdam and that there are many of them I know, but even I was surprised by this sea of parked cycles along a canal.
Is this man thinking "where did I put my bike?"
Even the opposite of the canal is full of parked bicycles. The policy of the municipality is to centralize the parked bikes, which has succeeded here apparently! Plans for an underground bicycle storage are still in a consultation mode.
I am amazed that anyone can find their bike at the end of the day!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIncroyable! I sometimes forget exactly where I parked my car in the parking lot, I would NEVER find my bike in amongst all of these :) Amazing sight Marianne!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJe moet echt zelf een opvallende fiets hebben om 'm daarin terug te vinden.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is amazing!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGadzooks!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThere certainly is no shortage of them!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt was ride your bike to work day this week in Colorado. They are trying their best to get cars off of the road. The Netherlands has done a good job.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI hope that these bikes are secure. I don't leave my bike down tawn as it would be vandalized.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWow, that is indeed a heavily congested bike area! One wonders if they all are safe and not prone to theft.
Hugs and happy weekend.
Mariette
Uma bela invasão de bicicletas.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenUm abraço e bom fim de semana.

How do the owners find their bikes in this group? Would an underground storage solve that problem?!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'd be that motoped guy. His scooter is easy to find.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWauu .. there is a lot of wildly bicycles. Who really find his own bike ..
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe are trying to make Helsinki cycling-friendly city. There will be a lot of bike streets, and the space is taken away from automobile traffic. But I don't do bike in Helsinki, I'm too old for it :).
