Cycling

A group of french speaking tourists ready to explore the city of Amsterdam by bike.

When passing I noticed several small children. Maybe when they read a tourist guide about Amsterdam it seems nice to go cycling here. But the traffic is very crowded and dangerous and I would make it out of my head to cycle as a foreigner with little children in this city with tramways and touringcars. They have no idea.

  2. Oh my gosh, I certainly would find that intimidating Marianne 😃 but maybe even so young they are quite used to riding in high traffic areas, eek!

  3. I think it would be difficult to keep the group together while cycling around the city. Good luck to them!

  4. I think exactly the same as you when I see groups of tourists hiring bikes to look around London.

  5. As one who cycles city streets nearly every day. . . I AGREE! They're either certifiably insane or someone has sold them the proverbial bill of goods. :-)

  6. Keeping a group together adds another risk. Cycling is a great way to see things.

  7. Maybe it is similar to where they live in France so it seems like no big deal. I'd rather walk.

  8. Tourists (and bicycles) make chaos in traffic, I guess.

  10. I didn't realise until reading this post how skilful a cyclist one must be in Amsterdam.
