The P.C. Hooftstreet in Amsterdam has become a fashion street of the famous fashion brands. In earlier days it was just a street with little shops where I often came because my best friend lived here with her parents. In a few years time it completely changed, my friend had sold her parents house after their death for an incredible price. Here you see the Louis Vuitton shop for leather bags where you have to line up outside to enter. They allow a limited number of people inside to give them all the attention they deserve I suppose, or just to attract attention that there must be something very special inside worth to line up for!
The Chanel shop has got a spectacular glass facade.
No line ups here, even nobody inside when looking through the glass.
But when looking up these construction workers caught my attention, taking a break of working at another fashion palace.
Marcas de muito prestigio.

Today's fashion is anything goes.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCan't believe that there are so many people lined up at the Louis Vuitton shop! The Chanel shopfront is beautiful!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFine scenes
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat could possibly be so important to stand in line for? A hotdog maybe, but that's about it for me.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe Chanel shop front looks eye catching - Louis Vuitton has no need to make the effort it seems!

It's interesting how neighborhoods in a city change and evolve. Too often though they change from ordinary homes for real people into something only the wealthiest of the world can afford. Although it looks like there is no shortage of those who can afford the Vuitton handbags!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNo way I'd line up to get into a store!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSome of those bricks look precariously placed on top of the building.Vuitton are very clever with their marketing strategies.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYeah if you can sell your property to such big fashion houses, you're lucky indeed!
One wonders who can afford to buy at any of them; paying the full price...
Love the Chanel front though and also LOVED the last photo!
Hugs,
Mariette
When I was in A'dam (2 yrs ago!) my hotel was just around the corner from here and my cousins were staying at a place above Tiffany's. It is a world away from anywhere I usually shop!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe only line up I've seen at a store recently was a local gelato shop.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat final shot appeals to me most. It has a candid feel.
Things change. Marketing tries to steer things their way.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt been a while since I been in a regular clothes store. I like to shop what I believe you call Charity shops. Here there call Thrift store.
