Frozen fields

Yesterday I went out in the neighbourhood to make some pictures with a camera borrowed from SC. A bit strange to handle the other buttons on the camera and to think all the time, how to open and close, how to zoom. It had been a frosty night with temperatures below zero, - 5 C ( 23.0 F), and there was ice on the grass.

I tried the zoom for a closer look. It had been the coldest night in November since 1998!

The frozen grass in the shadow along the cemetery.

A freighter at the Gooi Lake on its way to Amsterdam.

A meeting with some horses.
Well, a first try with another camera, it feels still a bit uncomfortable but I will keep practising.

  1. The frost makes it look very cold. The only way to get used to a new camera is to practice!

  3. Using a different camera is like trying to dance with someone else's body!

  12. Well, darn! Minus 5 C! we've had lows of minus 12 C and highs of minus 5 but it's still nice. It's what you get used to.

  13. I like the crunch sound when you walk across a frozen field. We have had some heavy frosts here as well. Everyone around us has experienced big snow storms, but somehow, the storms missed us. Its like the storm separated and missed our town and then joined back together to hit everyone else?? Not complaining though. Your photos are great with the new camera. Practice makes perfect.
