Bridge

On our way to Elburg we had to cross this bridge. It seems bridges always open when we reach them and this time it was no exception. But this one had a surprise for us, the underside showed the coat of arms of our Province with a message: "So long in Flevoland".

  1. Erg leuk. Een enkele keer zie je het wel eens meer, bijv. op de onderkant van een brug hier in Stadskanaal staat een heel gedicht geschreven.

  3. Gives you something more interesting to see while you are waiting than the plain roadbed.

  7. Well, it must have been a great surprise! I used to live in a town with 3 bridges and none of them had such a delightful design . . .in fact, no design at all!

  11. I've only had bridges that open up in one fashion delay me on a couple of occasions. The Pretoria Bridge and the Hogs Back Bridge here use different systems for opening up to let tall watercraft pass beneath.
