Head of a Faun

Some bridges in Amsterdam are decorated with sculptures made by city sculptor "Hildo Krop" (1884-1970).  In 1924 he made two identical sculptures for this bridge.

The head of a faun seems to blow the curved strip of the bridle, as if it were a flute.

  5. Strikingly carved. I can't remember them being called fauns, but apparently they are. I'd recalled them as satyrs.
