An artwork in Amsterdam with no name but popularly called the "Monkey table" made in 2005 by artist "Merijn Bolink" . A table where three mythical figures are pulled up.
The use of animals in visual art is an old fact. Usually they have a symbolic meaning.
For example a monkey symbolizes foolishness and vanity.
Acording to the artist these monkeys are an Estruscan spider monkey, an Amsterdam School macaque and a science fiction style gorilla.
What an unusual work of art. It looks like they are waiting to be fed.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenReminded me of people playing chess at Dupont Circle in D.C. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI wonder what they're discussing.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI just love this! I would be tempted to set up a dominoes game on the table.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenErg leuk om te zien.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe gorilla looks like he's out of the Planet of the Apes franchise.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI enjoy seeing street sculptures. This one makes me smile.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJ`Adore!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like them, they are nice to see.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'd rather not be their fourth for poker.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI see there waiting for someone to join them...I'm I right?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCoffee is on
I don't like monkeys but I like the Monkey Table very much.
