We see them more and more in Amsterdam.I read they find a lot of food here, because many people throw not eaten food away in the streets or open bins. They have become real fastfood snackers!
Gulls are notorious scavenger so I wouldn't be surprised that they are searching out food. I was surprised that I didn't see many gulls in California on this last trip two weeks ago. I usually see lots.
They make a really big mess here near the pier. They love to tear the empty fish and chips boxes out of the bins. Every morning when I walk, I see the city worker picking up the mess, he's said they are a crazy bunch of birds but smart.
The good thing about gulls is they keep city streets clean of food waste.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEnchanting :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGosh the seagulls are the same all over the world Marianne, where there is water there they are, especially if there's food to be found 😊
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI can imagine the racket they make pretty much matches the racket our local ones make.
