Weekend Reflections

This estate is called "Duin en Kruidberg" in Santpoort. It used to be a holliday home for employees of a big bank company. With their families and colleagues they could enjoy a two week stay here in a beautiful house and parc. The dunes and beach are close by. Now the estate is a hotel and has a restaurant. We had a lunch with an old friend of mine who stayed here as a child and celebrated her birthday with a group of friends in this place full of sweet memories.

We felt a bit "royal" with this view having our lunch.

The parc had beautiful autum colours.

  1. A lovely relaxing place to have lunch and perhaps to walk afterwards!

  2. What a beautiful place. I will feel royal dining here too!

  3. what a nice story! and especially the first pic is really pretty..
good that its not a retreat-place for bankers anymore.. the occupiers would have occupied it.. :)
was it for any worker of that bank or only for the top 1%?

  4. CaT,
No, it was for everyone, just the employees and not the top. In fact it was very social, people met each other every year with their families. Now they call it "teambuilding" and you have to do all kind of horrible things with your colleagues in a weekend....

  5. Wat een prachtige plaats ! En je hebt er mooie fotos van gemaakt.

    Fijne dinsdag !

  6. Can I book the room in the tower in the building in the top photo?

  7. Now this is the kind of hotel I would love to stay in at least once in my life with such a lovely park to ram in.

  8. Wow! If I had had to make a guess I would have thought it had originally been a castle!
