This huge mural covers the whole side of a house, only the windows on the left are real. It is made as a tribute to the sporting event " Holland-Triathlon" which takes place every year in Almere Haven for more than 25 years now. The mural shows the multisport event involving the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance sports, 3,8 km swim in open water, 180 km bike, 42 km run (marathon).
It was a bit (too) sunny day for a photo, so the light and shadow devides the painting in two halves.

Wonderful piece of artwork! And a great contribution to Monday Murals!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenvery beautiful idea...
BeantwoordenVerwijdereni thought the people seen are real...
I hope this takes place in the summer...especially since you have to swim in open water! Great sign..
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDat is prachtig. Het is zo geweldig wat die sportmensen doen.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFijne dag nog!
I really like this mural, very well done. At first I thougth the man in the yellow sweater was a real person, but I think he is also in the mural right?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis one is really thinking outside the box! I wonder if the people in the mural are based on real participants?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOptical illusions i love them!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely mural. Always nice to see those trompe l'oeil effects in some outdoor art like this.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNellies,

No I don't think so.
dit heeft wel iets !! mooi !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOne of the most interesting and busy murals I have ever seen. Very nice.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWonderful tribute to an Ironman Triathalon. 25 years - wow.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe mural is massive and I'm sure the event it represents must also be a massive.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThanks for your visit to my blog. Canada ended it's combat mission in Afghanistan last year. Most of the troops came home. The ones that remain are training and are in a non-combat mission.
Nice mural, I admire people who can compete in a triathlon.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis is a very cool mural with a lot to look at and engage the viewer. The trompe l'oeil effects are really impressive. Quite a tribute to the triathlon. I wonder if the guy in the lower right corner is a self-portrait of the muralist? Thank you for participating in this week's Monday Mural.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwow. This is a masterpiece!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwonderful, Bieb, thank you for sharing!

This is a fine mural!
BeantwoordenVerwijderen«Louis» thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.
That is an excellent thing to display on an otherwise boring wall, Marianne. I like very much the man spraying down at the very bottom. A self-portrait of the artist, I wonder ...
