Monday Mural

This is a piece of a mural in the Amstel train station in Amsterdam, made by Peter Alma in 1939. There are two huge murals of him in the station of 20m x 9m. I couldn't manage to get the whole picture because of all kind of furniture and trees in the station hall but found on the internet a complete picture. See for more murals at Monday Mural

  3. I'm surprised to learn this mural is from 1939. It seems so fresh and modern. And HUGE!! I'm guessing it honors the development of transportation especially train travel. The men look like they're in 18th century clothes, which confuses me a little.

  4. Oops, hit Publish too soon. Meant to say that despite my confusion, the composition works well and is graceful despite its size. Thank you for contributing to Monday Mural.
