Monday Mural



In the center of Almere Haven this huge mural is made by Gijs Frieling (1966) and is called "The ideal City".

  1. I couldn't figure out why the people were nude. Then I see their clothing drying in the trees, after their swim. I like it.

    Je reactie op mijn blog. Ik had er nooit bij nagedacht om die dingen te laten zien op mijn blog. Je staat er helemaal niet meer bij stil dat je dat allemaal hebt en dat het mooi is. Ik ga zo nu en dan maar eens in mijn kasten kijken. :)))

  7. It looks like his ideal city is out in the woods. It is so gentle in its colouring. Perhaops the paint has softened through the years.

  9. This has a Chagall feel to me. Maybe it's the colors. Regardless, it's a cool piece that enhances the local area.

  10. The pastel colors are really nice here. I'm not sure what exactly his take on the ideal city is, but I like the mural... so it must be good! :)

  11. this mural is pretty - though doesn't look very urban to me. then again, it is a pleasant escape!
