Sunday Bridges

The pedestrian and cycle bridge nr. 233 to the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam is made of natural stone and is vaulted with a cast iron parapet. The bridge dates from 1877.

Here a view to the other side with the old Amsterdam houses.

This poor pigeon with one paw was patiently watching my efforts.

  2. oh!
Often birds stand on one leg and tuck the other one in close to the body. I hope that's the case here.

These bridges are why Amsterdam is so charming. These scenes are great, with the leaves on the ground.

  6. It makes a very scenic picture this very old bridge. The autumn leaves scattered on the walkway is charming too.
