Amsterdam canal houses

The two buildings with the red shutters date from 1677 and used to be warehouses. Not in use for that purpose anymore they are renovated in 1982 into seven appartments and a winery.

The buildings are called "the Sun and the Moon" as you can see on the shutters and the gable stone in the facade.

  6. After yesterday's post I don't think I will ever look at Amsterdam housing the same again without seeing if it is leaning to one side or not.

  11. I once visited such a canal house and I was amazed of the size of the house. But these houses are very expensive.

  16. I would have missed the "Sun and Moon" unless you had pointed out the gable stone. I adore the red shutters. Very nice, and I see lots of bicycles, too.
