I noticed before I was so surprised to see so many sculptures in the streets of the city Rotterdam. Look at this a real Picasso just at a corner of a street, not even in a museum. The huge concrete sculpture is 7.5 metres high and 4.5 m wide and is based on a painting Pablo Picasso made of his model Sylvette, who he met in 1954 when he was 73 years old. She worked in a pottery studio not far from his studio in Vallauris and became his muse who he painted many times. The sculpture is realized in 1971 by Norwegian artist Carl Nesjar.
Is there a reason why she looks tome like a parrot? :-)

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love it and it is so huge.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenthat's so inspiring that he adopted a muse at 73!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHope you are well, Bieb!
It looks ripe for some graffiti tagger to come by and leave his mark. Such are the days we live in now.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOne never knows what one will see on your posts - that is why I keep returning - its just darn interesting - this is quite a sculpture and I agree with Kitty - it is indeed that he adopted a muse at 73 yrs. NEAT n DIFFERENT
