Fetishism in Fashion

In Arnhem we visited the fifth edition of the Fashion Biennale, or MoBA 13, with this years theme "Fetishism in Fashion". Young designers are invited to design fashion with this year a difficult theme "Fetishism". The results were not so wearable fashion but more ideas about the theme worked out in textile or leather. The exhibition took place in different locations in the city, this is the main place, a brand new building with lots of little rooms.

This one is made by Iris van Herpen a dutch designer who makes ingenious constructions with leather.

I'll show you just some designes I thought were remarkable, this one is made of hair.

I am always fascinated by the way designers can design different fabrics and make something new.
I realize this post is more a woman's interest so the men readers have maybe to come back later. But I am lucky to have a husband who likes fashion too so have a look at sccollections for more photos.

  3. Ooo boy, I must be getting really old in my thoughts. These are weird. Not so wearable is right.

  4. I think this is clever art ...certainly not wearable fashion.

  5. I am amused more than fascinated.
