Museum "de Fundatie" in Zwolle has a spectacular extension added to the building after renovations. It lookes like a spaceship has landed on top.
On the outside the superstructure is clad with 55.000 white-blue tiles. The large oval window offers a view of the historic inner city.
Inside the"cloud" you have two levels, at the top you have a look at the city through the oval window which I showed you in last Sundays post.
As there are only round walls the photo exhibition of "Pieter Henket" had to be placed in special concrete blocks with a glass pad.
A glass elevator takes you to the top.
But you can also go by stairs and then you meet this inviting guy.
VerwijderenIt looks like a modern interior but I think the outside looks a bit of a missmatch
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLooks like something similar to what was planned for one of our museums here in Washington, D.C. until it was finally decided to be too expensive.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI agree with Diane. Love that you show us things like this. I think I recognize someone in a beret.?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou did see it very well indeed, he is.
VerwijderenLooks like the top popped off the building and it is foaming over. Very interesting design.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI remember this from last week Marianne..so this was added afterwards oui? It really is a very unusual feature, must be fab to look at the views of the city out of the window. I'm beginning to like more modern things much more these days.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHeel bijzonder zo'n giga 'ei' op het dak. Was al benieuwd naar je foto's! :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDat ziet er apart uit, ik denk dat de mensen wel moesten wennen.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSome innovative architecture has been put into reality here. Very interesting and light. Love that guy with open arms and he is firmly grounded with his big feet!
Hugs,
Mariette
Daar moet ik even aan wennen, heel apart. Binnenkort maar eens van dichtbij gaan bekijken.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis is one of those places I could stay in all day.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJust like Rad, I could have spent time here too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenInteresting and very nice posting.
Thanks for sharing.
